Varanasi – The city in orange

Recently I had a golden chance to visit the city of God i.e. Varanasi on the occasion of Dr. Ganga Sahai Pandey Memorial Lecture & Prize Distribution Ceremony of All India Essay Writing Competiton by Vishwa Ayurved Parishad.

Almost 2 day journey by train from Chandigarh. The grace spreaded in the air gently welcomed me as I touched the holy land. Always heard a lot about Banaras and B.H.U but what I experienced there was far much more than all of that. People there are true to heart , innocent , and with orange oral cavity (Due to famous banarasi paan). There are temples painted orange at every 100 meter distance. Every inch of space is filled with humility, truthfulness, & faith. I was wondering how & why, so much divinity is present here & suddenly Dr. K.K. Dwivedi visited me & offered me to accompany with him to the Great Kashinath temple and, this is it, the fullstop to all the search and wanderings of the curious mind. They say you become like  that whom you love the most and this was why the innocence and intelligence of Lord Shiva was clearly reflected in everyone. Just in the first visit I also started loving him more than ever and felt the bond to be tied more strongly.

During my 2 day stay I also had the golden opportunity to visit B.H.U – Banaras Hindu University, well designed, spreaded over an area of 15sq Km, full fledged Ayurvedic and Allopathic hospitals, Marvellous Birla temple and distinctly marked departments with the topmost brains of the country. I went to boys hostel and interacted with 3RD prof Ayurved students, they were interactive and welcoming. Special thanks to Dr. Brijesh Yadav for Samosa party. Another new friend Vijay from 2nd prof  showed me the Dravya Guna Department and herbal garden. His humility and intelligence deeply impressed me. Later I met my Pathology teacher Dr. Sarvesh Dubey and he showed me the whole B.H.U campus and the Birla Temple in it. He is indeed the purest soul I have ever met, simple, intelligent, a great teacher and a gem person. Experiencing him is always been a great experience itself. He also took me to the Ayurvedic hospital and provided me the golden opportunity of meeting the former N.I.A Jaipur Vice Chairman Prof. Ram Harsh Singh, who blessed me for my bright future and added in the glory of B.H.U by saying that “One can even become knowledge full by wandering on the roads of B.H.U for a considerable time.”

Going to the Lord Kashinath with the Gurujan was the biggest blessing I acknowledged there. My throat chokes with this great feeling of gratitude for Diwedi sir and Sarvesh sir.

The function was profound and left a great and significant mark. The guest of honour Prof. P.V. Tewari is a remarkable personality. She emphasized on the importance of practical Ayurvedic teachings and how the ancient wisdom holds the key for Health For All UN mission. The stage was handled by Dr. K.K. Diwedi , he is indeed an excellent speaker. I was honoured with bronze medal by renowned Cardiologist Prof. T.K. Lahri. The credit of this glory and respect goes to Dr. Sumit Srivastav who told me to add headings in the essay & Dr. Aruna Katoch who actually proposed the headings.

As a student of Ayurved this honourable event was the true source of inspiration and a proud statement to me. Thank you is infact a small word but still my heartiest thanks to the Vishwa Ayurved Parishad.

Jai Bhole Naath. Jai Ganga Maiya.
