O.T.A

17th September 2010

World’s second toughest military academy and my first childhood best friend Mani dared to pass the 11 months vigorous training and become lieutenant of  prestigious Indian Army. His innermost wish to share his most memorable & honorable moment led me & Tarun to go to Chennai to see him becoming a military officer. His P.O.P ( Passing Out Parade ) was as usual filled with discipline and extraordinare wonderful coordination. New officers were marching with pride of nation on their shoulders. The sparkling eyes of the shining young officers of the Indian army displayed the inner joy and respect for their beloved country. The most delightful moment for all the passing cadets was to cross the aantim pag , The Last Step. Although most of the cadets tripped over the smooth and shiny surface of  it but the responsible smile on their faces easily made us believe that when time will come they will shield us like the greater Himalaya.

Bharat ke hum jawan,

Parwat ke hain saman,

Even the air in the academy was filled with deep love, joy, respect, gratitude & patriotism. When the young Indian Army officers took the oath , even to give their life for the nation, no one in the crowd could hold the tears of gratitude and joy. The putting of  the stars on the shoulders of their stars was indeed the proudest and most exhilarating  moment  for the parents.

Chennai is a beautiful place specially its railway station and beaches except for its rotting wet lands. We were very short of time but still we managed to see Mahabalipuram and Marina beach (the longest Asian beach). I bought few spices for mummy and shankh for papa as per their criteria for sending me. Journey made its mark and will be remembered till the end of   THE JOURNEY.                                                                                                                     Thank you lord, thank you  Lt.Manish Kumar Toor.

Oh yes one last thing Mani booked 3star hotel for us. :-)
