THANKS
TEACHER
Teacher is the one who
teaches . In past 28 years of my life I have seen many teachers , learnt from
them what they could teach and what they cudnt . here iam penning down some of
my thought processes in order to give my views an outlet for further inlet.
Most of the teachers in this present decade in India is more or less like a
dictator. However in the light and guidance
of my master H.H.Sri Sri Ravishankar ji I have unfolded certain parts of
my brain in the process of being teacher and a student also . Learning from
teachers who could effectively teach and also from those who couldn’t. here is
a proforma of my experiences.
A teacher shoud live like a
practical examples of what he teaches cause not just words is the way he is
going to impart the thought process but he should be able to project himself
with all the five senses, good intentions, love and also with the modern
changing envt. situations and technologies.
A teacher shoud work on the
principles of democracy rather than dictatorship involving students, learning
through them , learning about them, understanding their mind, looking through
their intellect and acting like them in order to get tem. It is sadid that
your first teacher are your parents , it is also the other way around also, the
teacher is the parent who moulds you, flexes u and recreates u , who give
direction to the evergoing thoughts and redirects you to the infinite.
There are very huge number of
objectives to define a teacher starting from patience, preservance …… to
compassion , summing all we get = LOVE. Yes love is the ultimate fuel which
should be flowing in our veins in order to do the part. Love cannot br
substantiated or could be acquired from somewhere. It is like swimming in the
river and asking for water. U r love , coming back to the teaching aspect lets
get into the practical points after stating quantum application of teaching.
1. All your lectures
should be an interactive sessions rather than one way traffic.
2. Students should
not only be imparted knowledge but it should be extracted out of them so that
learning becomes fun and enjoyable.
3. Students should
be dealt with utter patience , generousity and love.
4. Student age is
the time when they should be pampered with confidence and enthusiasm and to
make them believe that yes they can achieve everything. This doesn’t mean them
to take away from reality but not to ever put cold water on their enthusiasm.
They should be pumped enough so that they are not afraid of pursuing their
dreams cause even if they fail they will end uo knowing themselves better.
5. Love is the only
way to conquer the heart of people/students. No other way is their to reach to
this organ.
6. Dictating notes
depends upon the class u r teaching. If it’s a professional class then guiding
with refrances / citations is better than dictating.
7.Be an inspiration
rather than a teacher. The ability of mind is to create and adapt is
incomprehensible hence have trust in your students and guide them to make their
own paths. More than teaching a subject we should inspire more so that the
student learn from the source itself which is the small mind in the big mind.
8. Being a teacher
your expectations and attachments should be superseded by the unending
compassion like a mother to a child who tell him the same thing ‘n’ no of times
inspite of his forgetful memory, non seriousness, erratic and irrational
behavior.
9. A teacher should
have the intention and action to make his students beyond him inevery aspect.
10.He should prepare
for the lecture he is going to deliver and should value students and his own time as well.
11. He should dress
nicely and should set an eg of himself more rather then just being newspaper
reader and rather than explaining things
hypothetically i.e. to be an example setter rather than a newspaper reader.
In
the end I would like to give my thanks note to my teachers starting from the
first teacher in my memory i.e first to my father Shri K.C. Shashtri who taught
me more than subjects , mostly the patience ,which I was lacking the most, who
handled and tolerated the reckless child one could ever get in the most calm
manner one could ever do , iam very grateful to his lotus feet for his love and
preservance. Second in my list is my revered master H.H.SriSri Ravishankar Ji.
He broadened my vision , opened my eyes , made me alive and connected me to the
universal existence. Third I wanted to thank every single atom of this universe
who directly/indirectly taught me itself and beyond.
Thank
you creation.
